14 DAY TRIAL // Many fans were broken-hearted when the pop duo of Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez broke up earlier this year. Now, after some time has passed and the dust began to settle on the famous couple, Justin speaks out on what it meant to him to be in love.
Speaking with Big Boy radio host on Power 106 this week, Justin confessed something that probably none of his fans had expected: that he's still in love with former girlfriend Selena Gomez.
“[The break up] affected us, especially when we are in front of so many people. It's such a public thing. It's just hard for the both of us. But you know, she's a great woman. I love her to this day,” Justin said in a shaky voice.
He further revealed that the song “All That Matters” was also written about their relationship. He explained that that was why he thought it was such a great song, because it perfectly expressed his feelings at the time, “I wrote the best music once my heart was broken.”
Bieber confessed “‘All That Matters’ was written when I was in a great place in my relationship, and at that time, she was all that mattered in my life.”
Still, he doesn't think they'll be getting back together anytime soon and insists that they will just be remaining “the greatest of friends.” And while he does have the utmost respect for his ex-girlfriend, at the moment they have severed all ties “Right now we're taking a little time and not talking.”
This is the latest shocking bit of news to come out of Justin Bieber's mouth. Yesterday he announced that he was retiring from music after his next album and also admitted to making mistakes. Justin may be trying to promote a gentler, more human side, after his last tour was fraught with scandals of all kinds.
