Justin Bieber Kisses Selena Gomez at the Billboard Awards 2011

One of the hottest moments at the Billboard Music Awards 2011 that had nothing to do with music was the kiss Justin Bieber planted on his girlfriend Selena Gomez when he was named winner of the Top New Artist award.

Fans know that the two were not exactly open about their relationship at first, precisely because of the fans, who can’t seem to grasp the concept that The Biebs may be off the market even for a short while.

However, Justin and Selena went public with their romance at the post-Oscar Vanity Fair party this year: the kiss at last night’s awards ceremony only confirms that they’re still going strong and are probably more in love than ever.

As the video below will show, during last night’s ceremony, which took place in Las Vegas at the MGM Garden Arena, Justin was seated between Selena and his mom.

Only one was mentioned in his acceptance speech for Top New Artist – the other one got a kiss on the lips as the cameras had just zoomed in on their faces.

Of course, the former was the mother, while the latter was the girlfriend.

During the speech, The Biebs made a point of thanking everyone on his team helping him “stay grounded and normal, like,” but also the fans, without whom he wouldn’t be able to be the top selling artist of his age.

Also at last night’s ceremony, Bieber picked up a slew of other awards, including Top Social Artist, the Fan Favorite Award, Top Digital Media Artist and Top Streaming Artist.
