Justin Bieber’s mop ‘do is almost as famous as he is, even prompting at one point a series of comments claiming he was using it to hide the fact he had no forehead. Just recently, The Biebs has unveiled a new, shorter cut.

Of course, the mop hair is still there but, this time, it’s a bit different because one can actually see his forehead and his eyebrows. Fans haven’t yet passed a verdict on the new ‘do.

Nevertheless, the New York Daily News believes, some hearts were definitely broken at the “unveiling” of the new ‘do, since perhaps not all fans were happy to see their idol was growing up.

“Bieber Fever hit the Big Apple this past week, but among the screams of joy were no doubt screams of sadness,” NY Daily News writes.

“Justin Bieber premiered his memoir, ‘Justin Bieber: First Step 2 Forever,’ at New York’s Fifth Ave. Barnes & Noble on Friday and fans were shocked to see the teen pop star with a shorter ‘do for the first time since he first got his trademark mop,” the same publication goes on to say.

“The hair that normally covers the 16 year old’s brow hovered above it as he held up his new book, which charts his rise from YouTube sensation to Usher protégé, to over a thousand excited fans,” the report further notes.

Indeed, Justin Bieber made the mop hair his trademark while also setting a trend with boys his age and even older.

Though not new, “The Bieber” was the ‘do of 2010, with New York salons, for instance, charging up to $150 to recreate the pop star’s look, an older report on OMG Yahoo informed at the time.

And boys weren’t the only ones to go crazy for it, since girls too demanded it. Even celebrities gave it a try, with actor Ashton Kutcher trying to recreate it without actually getting a haircut.
