Scammers are again at work on Facebook with a new scheme specifically targeting Justin Bieber fans by promising them free tickets to the star's upcoming concerts.

"WOW! Justin Bierber Is Giving Away Free Concert Tickets Now!: http://bit.ly/[censored]" one of the lures read.

Others promote a link called "Justin Free Concert Ticket Giveaway!" with accompanying messages which claim that "[user] just snagged 4 free tickets to see Justin Bieber!"

Justin Bieber is one of the most popular celebrities at the moment and with his "My World" tour well underway, millions of teenage fans are eagerly awaiting his concerts across US and Canada.

As usual, clicking on the spammed link takes users to a rogue application requesting access to post on their wall and access their data.

In turn this will result in spam being posted on their walls for all their family and friends to see and possibly get infected too.

The ultimate goal of this scam is to sign up users for a premium survey service, that will add charges to their mobile phone bill every week.

People who get tricked into providing their phone numbers are distracted with promises of special prizes and don't notice the fine print informing them of the associated costs.

"You should always think twice about messages like this, even when apparently shared by your friends, and especially when you are asked to install an application that can access your Facebook profile," Graham Cluley, senior technology consultant at Sophos, advises.

Bieber fans, or the Beliebers as they like to be called, have become a constant target for survey scammers and other cybercriminals.

In the past two weeks we reported on two separate Bieber-themed scams running on Facebook and yesterday we wrote about how search results about the pop star were poisoned with malicious links leading to scareware.
