It was a double celebration for Canadian pop star Justin Bieber this weekend as he reached the 20 years milestone and then the 50 million fans milestone of the social platform Twitter. While the entire world was focusing on the 2014 Oscar ceremony, the troubled singer celebrated his passing from a teen to a tween.

As he hit the impressive milestone, Justin took some time from partying to address his half hundred million host of fans in a short tweet that expressed his gratitude: “#50millionstrong. Love to my beliebers.” The extremely short text indicates that he had more pressing matters to attend to than address his “beliebers,” the name generically given to Justin Bieber fans.

The added text was more in keeping with the weekend mood for Justin who also wrote “Keep the party going,” as a piece of advice to himself, as he blew out the candles on his cake which didn't bear his pop name, but his recently adopted hip-hop moniker “Bizzle.”

But while he was busy partying and living it up, his fans spared no character limitations to wish him the best of luck and a long and prosperous career. He was literally inundated with fans messages, so he felt that a formal thank you was needed at the end when he wrote “Thanks to everyone for all the birthday wishes. Means a lot. Blessed and hoping we can continue to change the world together. Thanks.”

Joining in all the merriment and wish-making was Justin's father, Jeremy Bieber, who also eventually flew out to Atlanta, Georgia, Justin's new home for some weeks now, to join the party. But before that he took to Twitter to congratulate his son on turning 20: “Happy Birthday son. Wow 20!”

His mother, Pattie Mallette, who is now separated from Jeremy, also chose to give her best to her son on the same social media platform. She took on a funny tone when she tweeted “Happy Birthday YOU KNOW WHO! I love you. Xoxo”

Bieber was just one month late to hitting the 50 million followers milestone, by none other than Katy Perry who managed the same feat in February. At the time, she used her massive army of fans to direct some Twitter traffic to John Mayer's account, from whom she is rumored to have split since.

After the party is done, Justin will still have to face a number of legal issues stemming from several incidents ranging from assault, DUI to drag racing and vandalism.
