Based on Xubuntu 8.10, this new version brings a brand new, much improved, Software Manager, XFCE 4.4.2, Linux kernel 2.6.27 and a lot of bug fixes and performance improvements.
The new Software Manager provides screenshots and user reviews for almost all applications, several sorting criteria, and can now be browsed in an offline mode. This new frontend uses XML meta-data for content synchronization with the online portal. The mintUpdate also reached version 3 and received a new Graphical User Interface, proxy support and improved stability. Also, users now have access to a history of applied updates, making troubleshooting easier.
