The site makes it easier to delete many of your online accounts

By now, everyone who has ever been online has tens or hundreds of accounts all over the web, many of which they don't use anymore or have never used at all. It's easier to manage them all now than it was in the past, since many sites and apps use identity providers like Facebook or Google.

But it's not easier to delete them or, for that matter, delete all of your online accounts if you're going for the nuclear option.

If the NSA spying has made you weary of putting everything online or if you're just looking for a new start, Just Delete Me is the thing you're looking for.

The Just Delete Me site is simple yet effective. It lists a number of sites and points you directly to the page where you can delete your account on any of them.

Of course, not everyone will allow you to delete an account, which is why entries are color-coded. Services labeled green make it easy to remove an account, those labeled black won't allow to delete your account at all.

Some, those labeled red, require you to contact customer support while others, those with a yellow tag, will first deactivate your account and delete it at a later point.

The site is a good resource, though you still have to go and delete all your accounts manually, if that's even an option. An automated tool would be much more useful, but it would also be blocked by most of the sites targeted.

The site's creator is keen on adding support for more sites and services; 40 are listed now, up from 16 when the site launched just a few days ago. He's asking for more suggestions and it's clear that people have been taking him up on the offer and providing links and instructions for more sites.
