Avalanche Studio, the developer of the Just Cause series, says that it had almost closed a deal to work on Star Wars video game with LucasArts before the company was bought by Disney.

Oskar Burman, a former manager now working at Rovio, states via Twitter that, “Long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away, we almost got that deal when I was at Avalanche.”

Christofer Sundberg, the current chief operation officer of the company, adds, “A massive SW open world game! We would have rocked it!”

Just Cause is well known for its capacity to create complex worlds and then fill them with characters that have unique and impressive abilities.

The ideas of the series would make sense for a Star Wars title centered on the unique powers of the Jedi.

Disney has recently entered an exclusive deal for Star Wars games with Electronic Arts.
