Just Cause Movie Will Explore Rico Rodriguez Origins

The team working on the upcoming Just Cause movie have announced that the story of the film will be focused on the backstory of Rico Rodriguez, who will be known by his codename Scorpion.

Eric Eisner and Adrian Askarieh, who has also worked on the Hitman movie adaptation, are the producers working on the game while Witchblade author Bryan Edward Hill is the screenwriter who is currently giving the narrative a second pass.

The official name of the movie will be Just Cause: Scorpion Rising and will see Rico develop as a top secret operative.

The open world and gadget based structure have made the second Just Cause video game a surprising hit and at the moment developer Avalanche is rumored to be working on a third entry in the series.

The game is supposed to arrive during 2012 according to the Xbox World Magazine, playable on the PC, the PlayStation 3 and the Xbox 360.
