The development team at Avalanche Interactive, the creators of the Just Cause series, are not interested in working on the Wii U home console from Nintendo despite the fact that they have had access to the device for some time.

The leaders of the company tell Pressfire, in an interview cited by VG247 that, “It’s a bit sad, because we wanted to do something. I think it is a cool platform, but right now it’s not just up to us.”

They add, “We want the game to reach as many as possible.”

Avalanche has launched a number of teaser images which suggest that a new Just Cause title is being developed, presumably with next-generation game console in mind.

No official announcement has yet been made.

The team has also recently revealed that it was close to working on an open-world Star Wars game.
