Juniper Networks has launched Junos DDOS Secure, a comprehensive distributed denial-of-service (DDOS) protection service for data centers.

The solution can protect organizations against most types of DDOS attacks by relying on behavioral analytics and detailed network visibility.

Junos DDOS Secure offers the visibility and control needed by security professionals to identify and block application-level and “low-and-slow” attack traffic before it enters the network.

“Enterprises and service providers interested in safeguarding availability would be well served to consider both size and sophistication in architecting a DDoS security strategy,” said David Koretz, vice president and general manager of Counter Security at Juniper Networks.

“Junos DDoS Secure offers customers a unique, intelligence-based approach to protecting against all types of DDoS attacks, providing next generation security for today's data center.”

The solution continually monitors and logs both inbound and outbound web traffic by using a unique behavioral algorithm. The system learns which IP addresses can be trusted, while the algorithm detects suspect or noncompliant traffic.

“At Xerox Services, our business relies on delivering consistent and secure access to our clients' websites and services, which makes protecting against the growing threat of DDoS attacks a key priority,” noted Kevin Taylor, managing director of ITO UK at ACS Information Technologies UK Ltd, A Xerox Company.

“With Juniper's Junos DDoS Secure solution, we are able to better protect our clients' websites against both volumetric and targeted application-layer attacks to ensure they are always online and running at maximum efficiency.”

Junos DDoS Secure will become available later this quarter. The perpetual license costs $18,950 (€14,500) per 1Gbps and a 1-year subscription license is priced at $8,950 (€6,800) for 1Gbps.
