Jump Superstars is a 2D fighting game that brings together over 150 characters from various Japanese anime and manga series. The title implies a bit more than just defeating your opponents, as, in some missions, you'll also have other objectives. The characters are controlled via the regular buttons, and you'll be able to jump, block and attack. Each character has their own individual attacks, and three different kinds of special moves. At some points during the game, you'll be able to switch between two or more characters with the help of the touchscreen.
There's also the option to make your own manga panels with the help of the "koma deck." There are three different komas, namely battle, help and support, which can be used to put together a "manga page." The game features a multiplayer for up to four players using just one cartridge, with the DS holding the cartridge working as a host for the multiplayer. Having your own cartridge in the DS will allow you to use your customized characters instead of the default ones.
The title includes a vast array of characters from anime and manga series like One Piece, Naruto, Bleach, Dragon Ball, D. Gray-man, Death Note, Shaman King, Eyeshield 21, Hunter x Hunter, Black Cat, Rurouni Kenshin and many, many others. Jump Superstars was published by Nintendo Co., Ltd. and developed by Ganbarion Co., Ltd. The game was released on August 8, 2005.
