What can we expect for July in terms of spam, malicious software and other web threats? MX Logic has just released its July forecast that uses recent and historical data to analyze the trends and keep you up to date and as safe as possible in terms of computer protection. The report contains detailed and comprehensive information on June's threats as well as predictions for July 2008.

This 4th of July celebrates 232 years since America adopted the Declaration of Independence. It also marks one year since the Storm worm e-card campaign was launched. MX Logic predicts that for this occasion malware writers will launch a new variant of Storm and try to propagate it.

The Srizbi botnet will predictably go on as strong as ever. Half of all spam message traffic in the world is generated by Srizbi and it does not look like things are going to change anytime soon. According to MX Logic's forecast, "as many as 10 of the top 15 worms circulating in July will be associated with either Srizbi or Storm Botnets."

Weather in July will be a good source of news for the media, but at the same time it will provide good topics for spam messages. In July there are hurricanes, wild fires, floods, tornadoes and all kinds of other disaster. MX Logic predicts that regarding July's spam traffic there will be a close connection between the topic of the spam message and weather related news.

On the 11th of July Apple will launch its new iPhone, which will most likely become a target for all kinds of people with malicious intent. An iPhone related scam attack has already occurred in Latin America and MX Logic predicts that more of the same will be noticed in July.
