At nearly 50, actress Julianne Moore shows that age has absolutely nothing to do with beauty as she dons a trendy swimsuit and very short dress for the November issue of Allure magazine.

In the interview accompanying the stunning photospread, the actress dishes on some of her beauty secrets, including how she always makes sure she’s covered in the sun and how she doesn’t seen plastic surgery as the solution.

As Moore’s fans must know, the star’s name has often been mentioned in the tabloid media among those over-40 female stars with a too obvious love for Botox.

Whether that is truly the case, Julianne doesn’t say. What she does say, though, is that she doesn’t hold plastic surgery as the solution to the ever burning “problem” of how to keep old age at bay.

“I don’t believe it makes people look better. I think it just makes them look like they had something done to their face, and I don’t think we find that instinctually appealing,” the actress tells Allure (via the NY Daily News).

For Moore, age is but a number, it doesn’t reflect who or how a person is, both on the inside and on the outside. This explains why she doesn’t understand some women’s obsession with age and, of course, growing old.

“I’m always shocked by people who talk about not being middle-aged. I’m like, ‘How old do you think you’re going to live? Let’s double your age and see where you get,” Moore says.

“People are always like, ‘Thirty-five is not middle-aged.’ I’m like, ‘Double it’,” she adds, in a bid to prove that, indeed, 35 is technically middle age.

Julianne Moore is, as also noted above, 49 but she could easily put to shame much younger women in terms of how good she looks. Her secret? Taking good care of her light, freckled skin.

“I’ve used Oil of Olay with SPF 15 for 25 years,” she says of her favorite beauty product. But that’s not all, either: Moore also makes sure she doesn’t get too much sun exposure.

“I have what I call ‘my outfit,’ I wear a long-sleeved rash guard and a pair of board shorts. I keep myself covered. My husband hates it. But if you ever see me at a water park, that’s what I’ll be wearing,” she explains.

Regardless of how uncool or untrendy her outfit may be, at least it’s returning excellent results, which are more than obvious from Moore’s super-hot Bulgari ads.

“I like to call myself the hundred-year-old model,” she says with a smile.
