She’s used to playing twisted and tormented women on the silver screen but, in real life, gorgeous redhead Julianne Moore is as normal as it gets. She’s a happily married wife and a dedicated mother. If she had a choice, she would talk in interviews only about the bliss of being this excruciatingly boring and, at the same time, privileged enough to be allowed to lead a double life, she says for BlackBook magazine.

Nominated for a Golden Globe for her part in Tom Ford’s critically acclaimed drama “A Single Man,” Moore will be seen next in another drama / thriller, “Chloe,” where she stars opposite Amanda Seyfried and Liam Neeson. Speaking with BlackBook, the actress, a four time Oscar nominee as well, reveals her profession allows her to lead a double life: the real one, where she gets to be normal and the make-believe one, where she gets to play with emotions.

“I really don’t like doing talk shows. They make me very, very nervous. People aren’t just chatting on those shows. You get on the phone beforehand with the person who’s producing that segment and you have a conversation, where they probe you about what’s going on in your life. But if I were being honest I’d say, well, nothing. I picked up my kids from school. Then we went to the orthopedist and the dentist,” Moore says of how she feels about doing the talk show circuit to promote her new films.

The celebrity culture leaves her equally indifferent. “Sometimes I see other moms reading tabloids and I always tell them how dangerous they are for young people. Don’t waste your time investing in the story of some pretty blonde who just got extensions and broke up with her boyfriend. Spend that time thinking about your own girlfriend who just got extensions and broke up with you. Keep it in your own life. […] Our parents are our parents, so that’s my connection to my children. My kids have some knowledge about my work, but they’ve never seen any of my movies, not even Jurassic Park. It’s not like I say, Gather around, everyone! It’s time to watch one of mommy’s movies!” Moore adds.

In the same interview, the star also talks about her role in “Chloe,” which is already causing quite a frenzy online for involving a certain scene where she kisses co-star Amanda Seyfried. Seyfried plays the part of an escort Moore hires to seduce and test her husband – but things turn sour soon afterwards. “Chloe” is scheduled for limited release in the US on March 26.
