Julia Roberts Talks Garbage and Britney Spears

The two are not necessarily connected...or wait - are they?

I have no idea when Julia Roberts turned from the feisty, occasionally temperamental best paid Hollywood female actress into a doting, environmental-conscious mother of three, but it's just one of those transformations that work. Julia brings her blonde self on the cover of Vanity Fair magazine this month and shares some of her thoughts with the world - and guess what? She manages to strike exactly the right note, not falling into the trap of trying to look too domestic (it really wouldn't work for a world-famous actress like her) and showing to the world a side of her that we often fail to see.

For once, Julia seems to be taking the environment very seriously. "You can't help but be aware, because now we are a home of five people", she says. "We make a lot of garbage. How can we make less garbage? This is our plight". It may sound strange to think that this lady worries about what to do with her garbage, but I'm glad she does and it's good that she sets up an example for other, less careful celebrities.

She may be fond of using the latest, environmentally-friendly diapers, but she doesn't seem to want more than three kids. "At this point I'm having so much fun with them" she confesses. "You only have so much energy and you want to put so much energy into each child. I wouldn't know how to have five kids. And they're really a good trio, these three". And it looks like Julia's maternal instincts have been put into somewhat of an overdrive, since she seems to think she could actually do something for the world's biggest trainwreck ever - our darling Britney Spears.

"I see and hear what's happening to Britney Spears and it's all I can do not to move her into my guest-house and say, 'OK, this is how it's going to be!' And just take care of her". Well, it's good to hold on to some illusions, but I'm not really sure this could work - Britney would probably end up horrifying Julia with her eating habits, not to mention all the alleged boozing and drug-use around kids. But at least we know there's a kindred spirit out there ready to step in. In the meantime, have a look at Julia on the cover of Vanity Fair and tell me if you don't think she's simply adorable.
