Exceptional music player also capable of Internet streaming

One of the most complex music players for Symbian devices, developed by Lonely Cat Games, LCG Jukebox offers an excellent multimedia experience, as well as great playlist management, and it embeds even more features than the basic built-in music player that you get into your Symbian phone: MP3, AAC and OGG music format playback, Internet radio streaming, Sleep timer, Equalizer, Playlist editor, Album image search on the Internet, Lyrics search and display, Mini mode displayed on the phone’s idle screen.

The music player automatically detects music files regardless of the location where they are stored, with one exception. Symbian 9.1 operating system has restricted access to certain folders, so if you receive a music file on your Symbian phone through a Bluetooth connection, you won't be able to open it using LCG Jukebox. But you can easily store any music files on your phone using USB cable or a memory card writer. The Playlist Editor enables you to: Save playlist on disk, Load saved playlist, Add tracks to or remove tracks from current playlist, Change order of tracks in playlist, Start playback of selected track, or Permanently delete track from disk. The editor is fully compatible with standard format M3U.

The player can also read standard ID3 tags from music files that support them. Mainly it reads artist name, album name and track title, and displays this information on screen. The equalizer features 10 bands, which offer users the possibility to change the characteristic of the sound by increasing or lowering certain frequency bands. The Sleep timer feature allows users to specify the time after which the player automatically shuts down. It seems to be the perfect feature for users who are looking to fall asleep with music played from their mobile device. There's also a mode named 'Automatic', when sleep timer is configured to switch off the player when the current playlist finishes playing the last track.
Furthermore, LCG Jukebox allows users to play local music files by listening to Internet streaming stations. It supports Shoutcast and Icecast protocols over http. The stations are normal entries in playlist, but instead of local filename, a remote URL (internet address) is specified. LCG Jukebox can be acquired for around 21 Euros, but a trial is also available.
