Retired Judge Jill S. Robbins, whom the stars had sought to handle their breakup privately, approved the divorce papers Aug. 19 in Los Angeles Superior Court.
Although the judge has signed off on the divorce of Jennifer Aniston and Brad Pitt, the couple's split, after 4 and a half years of marriage, won't be official until Oct. 2, according to court records obtained Monday (AP).
Jennifer Aniston has recently confessed she still loved Pitt but she was trying to get on with her life.
"The sad thing, for me, is the way it's been reduced to a Hollywood cliche - or maybe it's just a human cliche," said the actress.
The "Friends" star has been linked with Vince Vaughn, whom she is rumored to have been romancing since they met on "The Break-Up" set.
Meanwhile, Brad Pitt is rumored to have been living a love story with actress Angelina Jolie, who has recently moved with her children at the actor's house.
Pitt has been recently spotted enjoying Calgary hot spots and trendy restaurants before beginning to work on his latest movie, The Assassination of Jesse James.
The "Tomb Raider" star, Angelina Jolie is said to have made a surprise trip to Calgary with her recently adopted six-month-old daughter, Zahara Marley. Her father, Jon Voight, is also in Calgary to work on a film.
