Although somehow keeping out of the spotlight in recent months, British actor Jude Law has been very busy in his professional life. His latest completed film, “Rage,” set to be released sometime later this year, will see him doing a unique part as he cross-dresses as supermodel Minx. On that note, the first photo of Law in the guise of this character has just been released on director Sally Potter’s official blog.

As of now, not much is known of “Rage.” Boasting an amazing cast that includes, aside from Jude Law, John Leguizamo, Steve Buscemi and Dame Judy Dench, the only thing made public so far regarding this film is that it will deal with the concept of beauty and what it has come to mean to us. In this context, as Sally Potter, who is also the screenwriter of the film, notes, having Law dressed as a woman no longer strikes the viewer as something out of the ordinary.

Moreover, from what Potter says in a recent post on her official blog, having Jude as Minx meant allowing the actor plenty of room to show what he really was capable of accomplishing. The experience of this film will truly be a one-of-a-kind type, Potter assures us. “Part of the subject matter of ‘Rage’ is the ugly use of beauty in the pursuit of profit. Drugged by Marketing, sapped by fear of aging, conned by the cult of celebrity... image becomes all.” Potter begins by saying.

“Jude Law, whose beauty has sometimes been held against him as an actor, made the courageous decision to accept the role of Minx – a ‘celebrity super-model,’ and took on a kind of hyper-beauty for this persona... a ‘female’ beauty, which gradually unravels as the story unfolds. Strangely, the more he became a ‘she,’ coiffed and made-up – the more naked was his performance. There was great strength in his willingness to make himself vulnerable. It was an extraordinarily intense part of the shoot.” the director adds.

No release date has yet been set for “Rage.” If what you just read sounds interesting enough for you, stay tuned here and we’ll keep you up to date with all the details on this film.
