That Jordan...that is, Katie Price really is a wonder woman. Her extremely diverse range of skills and talents are bound to give anyone a run for his money. She writes books, designs hair care electricals and sex toys, has a busy social life, a family to look after, and in between dealing with all that, always manages to find enough time to entertain the world with her ridiculous sense of style. It takes real strength and determination to do all that. Barely a couple of days after Jordan sat side by side with the likes of JK Rowling at the photocall for the British Book Awards, the formerly boobielicious glamor model did it again. Jordan attended the launch of her new children's book called "Mermaids and Pirates - Time for a Picnic" and her "fake, pink and plastic-looking" fashion sense also made a smashing return.

For those of us (myself included) ignorant of Jordan's immense literary talents, here's a little reminder: the former mannequin has already published three "best-selling" memoirs, toddlers' books and novels for both children and teens. Of course, some people claim most of these literary forays are in fact the work of a ghost writer (former journalist Rebecca Farnworth), but of course, those are just malicious rumors intent of casting a shadow over Jordan's amazingly talented self. The idea of a "textured storybook" - in other words, a book in which the pages are put together using different fabrics and textures to allow children to "feel" the story as well as read it - is not a bad one at all, however, any kid who might have showed up for the launch would surely have run away screaming at the sight of Katie's costume.

The former model dressed herself in tone with her book, but her mermaid looks failed to impress any passing sailors. Sporting a garish pink top and mock-fishtail skirt, sparky stars on her abdomen, a thick, black curly wig and way too much make-up, Jordan tried to blend into the colorful d�cor; somehow, "subtle" has never quite been her strong point. However incredible it may sound, Jordan's literary talents have gained some recognition in her native Britain, where her "My Pony Care Book" was nominated for the WH Smith's Children's Book of the Year. Thankfully, she lost to a real writer, but this goes to show that sometimes, dressing up as a mermaid and showcasing talents you don't even possess really pay off.
