Jordan's Boobs Get No Love from US Audiences

Well, it was good while it lasted, in this case, 'it' meaning the whole period before 'it' actually began. I'll explain: Katie Price (aka Jordan, aka Britain's favorite glamour girl) and her color-coordinated hubby Peter Andre (aka the singing six pack with '90s hairdo) tried to bring their fabulousness to the US via their axed (in the UK) reality show, called 'Katie and Peter'. And they even found a network willing to air the footage of their daily lives ' E! Channel. Unfortunately, we're talking about the same network that airs Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie's 'The Simple Life' so we might as well have taken a hint from this one.

Anyways, Jordan (who is now heavily pregnant with her third child) and Peter even came to visit the US to promote their wonderful reality show. And to shoot a couple of scenes while they did the things normal couples do, like shopping, posing for the cameras, going out for extended lunches and dinners and, you know, all that stuff unemployed millionaires do on a daily basis.

In all fairness, the two British stars did their best to make sure that their show would be successful: they smiled, they talked to the paparazzi and they showed just how outrageous they can be if they really want to. Hey, they even tried the old-fashioned way of getting free publicity - bitching about other (much bigger) celebrities than them. In the end, it was all pointless. And totally ridiculous.

The first episode of 'Katie and Peter' just premiered and, let me tell you, the critics could have been more harsh and indifferent to the two stars' feelings had they tried to. Of course, it's not as if they didn't make a good point, mind you. Judging by how things stand, I guess it's safe to say Katie won't 'conquer' the States as she planned to. Bummer!

Just to get the whole picture, Linda Stasi from the 'New York Post' found the show in such poor taste and utterly useless that she didn't even bother to rate it. And that says a lot about it, as it also does any of the following excerpts from her review: 'the most irrelevant reality show - for Americans at any rate - in the history of irrelevant reality shows', 'this show is so incredibly boring that it's hard to imagine E! thinking it was a good idea to bring here' and 'save yourself'.

Neither the viewers were pleased with what Jordan and Peter had to offer them under the illusion of 'reality'. The British newspaper 'The Sun' (where Jordan's booming career was launched) went and talked to the regular people on the street and this is what they came up with: 'Katie looks like and Oompa Loompa with t**ts', says one; another admitted to watching the show on mute because, number one, she couldn't understand what Katie was saying and, number two, even when she did, she found it boring - 'We have enough trashy people in America. Did you have to go to another country to find losers?'; while a girl from LA simply deemed the show 'weird'.

Seeing that this is the reaction of the public and critics to only the first episode of the first chapter of the show (because there are three), you can only imagine what the future holds in store for the talented Katie/Jordan and even the more talented Peter. Then again, E! kept 'The Simple Life' for so long, despite the angry voices of many so maybe we have a precedent here. Maybe Jordan still has a chance of being accepted and appreciated for her real 'talent' (or, should we say, 'talents' and read 'boobs'?).
