Should be expanded to further markets soon

Being one of, if not the first contender to the iPad on the tablet market, the JooJoo benefited from a significant deal of attention from market watchers. However, unlike Apple's product, which sold by the hundreds of thousands in the first week after its launch, the slate developed by Fusion Garage did not fare too well, only getting about 90 orders by the end of March. This, however, does not seem to have phased Fusion Garage much, seeing how it went ahead and increased availability to a slew of countries besides the US.

The JooJoo tablet is powered by an Intel Atom N270 CPU, whose core clock is of 1.6 GHz. This chip is backed up by an NVIDIA ION graphics processor. The built-in flash-based storage space is rather modest, at only 4GB. Still, the slate boasts an accelerometer, WiFi and Bluetooth 2.1, as well as a battery life of up to five hours, all in a 12.1-inch frame weighing 1.1 kg. As for the display itself, it has a maximum resolution of 1,366 x 768, which serves quite well when playing HD videos. This capability is quite noteworthy for such a portable device.

The storage space is the only serious disadvantage that the JooJoo has when compared with the iPad. As for assets, the tablet is not only capable of multitasking, but also supports Adobe Flash playback and, most importantly, it has a significantly better resolution than Apple's device, whose 9-inch screen can only manage 1,024 x 768 pixels.

No longer exclusive to the US, the Linux-running slate has been listed as available in Canada and Europe. Canadians will have to make sure they are ready to part with CAD499 (shipping is free), whereas the European price tag is set at 359 Euro (15 Euro shipping tax). This translates into a price of £319 (£15 shipping) in the UK. Other regions should be added to the availability list soon.
