Jonathan Ive is not going anywhere, says a former colleague cited by the UK Daily Mail. A rumor started about month ago, Apple’s Jonathan Ive was said to be moving back to the U.K., where he could allegedly spend more time with his family.

Reporting directly to CEO Steve Jobs, Jony Ive is the senior vice president of Industrial Design at Apple.

He is responsible for various breathtaking designs found in the company’s original iMac, iPods, and the iPhone. Ive holds a Bachelor of Arts and an honorary doctorate from Newcastle Polytechnic.

Rumors saying Ive and his wife Heather wanted to have their twin sons educated in Britain broke out last month via a source allegedly familiar with the situation.

The source said the design guru was “at loggerheads” with the Apple board, as he would not be able to keep his position within the company, should he move back to Britain.

The timing of the rumor coincided with Steve Jobs medical leave of absence, which made it look as if Apple was taking not one, but two heavy blows in less than a month.

Ive has been with Apple for roughly 14 years. After designing the most beautiful products on the market (and he’s still at it), Jony Ive has become invaluable to his employers.

A report by the UK Daily Mail now sheds more light on the man’s life, also revealing that he is most likely not going back to U.K.

Speculation that the 44-year-old, Essex-born Jony Ive is leaving should not be trusted, the report suggests.

In fact, it downright says it’s “false,” citing a former colleague of Ive as saying, ‘I’m not sure there is any truth he wants to come back. My last conversations with him were that he was planning to sell his house in the UK.’
