Jon Gosselin says he and estranged wife Kate will be spending Christmas together

Jon and Kate Gosselin, once the stars of TLC’s popular and much-appreciated reality show “Jon & Kate Plus 8,” which has been recently pulled off the air amidst allegations of child exploitation, are now duking it out in court as part of the divorce proceedings. Still, that is by no means to say that they will not spend Christmas together so that the eight children they have together feel like they’re a family again, Jon Gosselin tells PopEater in a brand-new interview.

Speaking of plans for the holidays, Jon revealed that, while they had shared the custody of the eight kids, Christmas would be all about family time. As per his own words, for once, there will be no “who gets the kids” and certainly no fighting, as both he and Kate will try to make this work for the sake of the children. Suffice it that they are constantly surrounded by paparazzi, the eight kids don’t need to see their parents spending time apart on this family holiday as well, Mr. Gosselin believes.

“Christmas Eve and Christmas day are joint-shared custody days, which means we're both in the house. So we’ll be there.” Jon reveals. He hasn’t started looking for presents yet but, given how mad things are right now, he’ll probably buy them all online, he says. “I haven’t started my Christmas shopping yet. Don’t put pressure on me! It will probably be all Internet based this year, pre-wrapped. You know, I’m a guy, when there’s free gift wrap, I’m like, ‘Yeah, yes please.’” he adds for PopEater.

Thanksgiving, however, will be a different matter, as he gets the kids only for half a day. “On Thanksgiving I make apple crisp, that’s like my thing. They always ask for it. […] They do like apple picking and make cider, all the Pennsylvania stuff that we’ve been doing for years anyway. We still keep those traditions. We have an organic apple orchard that we go to. There are a couple of apple trees on my property, so we can pick those... We do stuff outside. I have landscapers, but I still tell them to leave leaves, so we can make a big pile and jump through it... […] We keep it all the same. Nothing has changed. That way they have the sense of security with everything that’s going on. But, this year, there’s a lot of paparazzi, so who knows? Every year it’s different.” Gosselin further explains.

In the same interview, Jon Gosselin also talks of his foundation that he just recently set up and how people stop him on the street to tell him he’s famous. He goes on to say that, while he could live his 15 minutes of fame to the maximum and then fall off the radar, he chooses to try to use his popularity for a greater cause and, this way, help others with their problems.
