After many months of bitter exchanges of words in the media, Kate and Jon Gosselin, once the couple that took out a page of television history in terms of popularity and appeal with the audiences, have reached an agreement in the ongoing divorce proceedings. Moreover, as TMZ has learned, both have acted in such a manner during the latest court hearing that a conclusion is expected to be reached very soon.

As fans must already know, the biggest issues with Jon and Kate’s separation were money and the eight children they have together and who have helped them make said money, over which they can’t seem to stop fighting. According to the celebrity gossip website / paparazzi agency, quite unexpectedly, the two apparently managed to come to an accord as regards both issues, with Jon not contesting Kate’s asking for primary custody.

The two were present at an arbitration hearing over the weekend – the last one in the proceedings. “Jon and Kate Gosselin’s divorce is heading to a conclusion, after a contentious day Saturday at the arbitration table. We’ve learned even Jon isn’t contesting that Kate should get primary custody and a decision on who gets what in the money department will be handed down within 30 days. Sources tell us the two issues on the battlefield are the distribution of assets and child support. In Pennsylvania, the courts award ‘equitable’ distribution when it comes to property, but that doesn’t necessarily mean 50/50,” TMZ writes.

“Sources tell us neither party asked for spousal support. We’re told Jon and Kate actually agreed to the amounts certain items were worth, but they were far apart on issues relating to how the assets should be distributed. The arbitration was supposed to last two days – [Saturday] and Monday – but it all got handled on Saturday. Both Jon and Kate testified in the arbitration. The decision of the arbitration is binding on both of them,” TMZ further says.

However, with proceedings for the divorce coming to an end, Jon Gosselin still has other legal matters pending, with TLC, the network that produced and aired the one-time very successful “Jon & Kate Plus 8” reality show, having taken action against him for breach of contract. Similarly, Gosselin too has sued TLC for exploiting his kids and preventing him from making other media deals when he needs the money to support them. Reports also have it that his ex, the one he never admitted dating, former tab editor Kate Major, is considering suing him for breach of contract as well.
