Co-star January Jones spills the beans at Emmys 2013 afterparty

Jon Hamm was one of the many presenters at Sunday’s 2013 Emmy Awards, sharing the stage with Alec Baldwin for the gig. Fans who noticed he sounded hoarser than usual have an explanation for that: he’s to undergo throat surgery.

According to an unconfirmed report in the latest issue of Life & Style magazine, Hamm’s “Mad Men” co-star January Jones let the cat out of the bag at one of the Emmys afterparties.

She probably didn’t know she was revealing a big secret because, the publication alleges, she was “overheard” confiding about it to a friend.

“January Jones was talking about it at the Fox Emmys afterparty last night,” says a source.

“According to reports, the hunky 42-year-old star, who rocked a mountain man beard at the Emmys, has two large polyps on his vocal cords. When he recently — and allegedly — coughed up blood, that’s when he decided to finally get them checked out,” the publication continues.

Apparently, polyps are not that uncommon among professionals who make a living off their voice, such as singers, actors, and entertainers.

“Aside from the surgery talk, the insider says January was also overheard chatting with Jon about a fantasy football league. ‘They were less interested in the ball and more excited about their fantasy league,’ the source shares,” the celebrity publication further says.

“Mad Men” had been nominated for 12 Emmys but didn’t win a single one this year.

Surprise winners included Jeff Bridges for Outstanding Actor in a Drama Series, and “Breaking Bad,” which finally took home the Outstanding Drama Series award, with only days to go until the series finale.

Fans of the series believe Bryan Cranston should have also won Actor, and not Jeff Bridges.
