US audiences no longer love Jon Gosselin. In fact, according to a poll published over the weekend, the last thing they could stomach right now would be another reality show where he would be on his own. As it happens, Jon Gosselin too is sick of the media charade and he wants out, now that he sees what a nightmare his life has become, Us Magazine informs.

Gosselin, as it’s already common knowledge, doesn’t do interviews that often, but he more than compensates for that by giving impromptu statements to the paparazzi who are almost constantly camped outside his home. It is to them that he made the revelation the other day, saying that he wanted out of the TLC show, “Jon & Kate Plus 8,” but could not have his wish because of his contract.

“Jon Gosselin wouldn’t mind punching the clock instead of appearing on a hit TLC reality show. ‘I wish I had a 9 to 5 job instead of the nightmare I’m living. This is 24/7,’ he told Us Magazine outside his $1.1 million Pennsylvania home Monday. ‘I don’t even want to do taping for the show anymore.’” the mag writes. Unfortunately, Gosselin can’t have his cake and eat it too, as the saying goes, since he’s forced to stay with TLC until his contract expires or, as reported, the network decides to take the final step and fire him first.

“But Gosselin says he’s stuck filming and doing promotional appearances to make as much money as possible. (A source also tells the current issue of Us Weekly that he’s ‘suspicious’ Kate is hiding cash ahead of their divorce proceedings. They make an estimated $75,000 per episode.) ‘I have two houses and eight children to take care of and I need to work,’ he told Us.” The US publication further writes. Jon Gosselin, as it were, is trapped in a situation he doesn’t want to be, but that he can’t change because he has to provide for his children.

As we also reported over the weekend, in light of recent rumors that Gosselin was shopping around town an idea for his own reality show, TV Guide conducted a poll to see how that would fare if it ever became real. Results showed than 94 percent of those polled would not tune in to watch the rumored new show, joking that the remaining six percent were perhaps comprised of Hailey Glassman, Jon’s current girlfriend, and his and her family.
