14 DAY TRIAL // Jon Gosselin has come out of hiding to do a couple of interviews on his new, post-fame life and, it seems, it’s already made him a paparazzi target. Hours ago, he pulled a gun on a female photographer and fired one single, warning shot.
TMZ reports that the incident occurred on his private property, with the paparazzo trespassing, presumably in the hope of getting some exclusive shot of the former reality star.
As per his own words, Mr. Gosselin lives now in a cabin in the woods with no Internet access and no TV. He’s also happy to be out of the spotlight.
In a statement to TMZ, he says that he was well within his rights to fire a warning shot to get the unwanted intruder off his property.
He’s also convinced she won’t be pressing charges against him because that would mean she’d admit to trespassing.
“I am licensed to carry a concealed handgun, which I withdrew and used to fire a warning shot AWAY from the paparazza. It is well within my rights under Pennsylvania law when someone is trespassing on private property,” he says.
Turns out, he’s right about the photographer’s threat that she’d be pressing charges.
“She simply asked the cops to make a note in their file that Jon fired a shot in the air and went on her merry way... on public property,” TMZ writes in a separate post.
Since he was fired from TLC, the network that launched him and his ex-wife Kate (with their 8 children) as huge reality stars, Jon has been slowly slipping off the radar.
These days, he makes a living waiting tables, saying in a recent interview that he’s hit rock bottom over 20 times, but he always managed to bounce back.
He resents people saying he’s making ends meet by working as a waiter, and stresses he’s perfectly happy with his new life, even if it’s a far cry from the one he was leading only a few years ago.
