Today, Jolla officially has announced a press event set for May 20, where it should unveil the first smartphone running under its Sailfish operating system, just as Marc Dillon, the company’s Head of Software Development, stated a few days ago.

At the time, he confirmed that the company was planning on announcing the first smartphone in a couple of weeks, but did not offer further details on the matter.

According to Engadget, Dillon even showed the device for a few seconds and, although that wasn’t enough to get an idea of it, the smartphone might actually arrive on shelves with a 5-inch screen.

For the time being, however, the May 20 press event planned for Helsinki, Finland, represents the only official details available on Jolla’s plans for the upcoming Sailfish device, so stay tuned for more on this.
