14 DAY TRIAL // Finnish startup Jolla has made available for purchase new personalization options for its Sailfish OS-based smartphone, in the form of "The Other Half" smart cover replacements.
Two such covers are now available for purchase through the company’s official store, namely Keira Black and Aloe, each priced at €29 ($39.21).
They are available for both existing and future Jolla phone owners. In fact, the company notes that users can grab the handset and one of The Other Half covers for only €419 ($566).
“The Other Half Keira Black smart cover is electric, urban and industrial. Attach The Other Half when you want to tune into the beat of the city,” Jolla describes the new cover on its website.
As for the second cover, the company notes the following: “The Other Half Aloe smart cover is calm and relaxing. Attach The Other Half when you want to unwind.”
With these covers, users will be able to enjoy a personal journey on their devices each day. They allow them to re-create the Jolla phone over-and-again.
“Attach The Other Half and watch your Jolla instantly transforming inside and out - technology in harmony with you,” the company notes.
One thing that users should keep in mind is the fact that the covers won’t change only the outer looks of their smartphones.
As Jolla explains, The Other Half comes as the company’s innovation, designed to offer a unique ambience with custom tones, wallpapers and more, in addition to the fresh coat of paint.
“Your Jolla detects The Other Half and instantly adapts the look and feel of your phone with the wireless NFC technology,” the startup explains.
These covers are made of a scratch resistant color infused polycarbonate, and will fit perfectly with the Sailfish OS smartphone, without modifying its dimensions. For app builders, an Other Half developer kit is also available for download.
