Rockstar tries to enhance its Steam presence ahead of big releases

Rockstar Games is giving away copies of its racing game Midnight Club 2 to all those who are ready to join the Official Rockstar Games Community on Steam before May 15.

Players who are interested need to have a valid Steam account and must have made at least one purchase on Steam or need to have activated at least one retail title.

The copy of Midnight Club 2 will be added to the account before May 29.

The racing title was launched back in 2003 and was also offered on the first Xbox and on the PlayStation 2.

Reviewers generally praised the game, but its sheer age makes it an incentive of limited power when it comes to attracting new gamers to an initiative.

Rockstar is trying to get more people for its official group in order to be able to easily communicate with them after the upcoming launch of Max Payne 3, and later when Grand Theft Auto V is introduced.

Some players are reporting trouble running the game on Vista and Windows 7 systems but seeing how it is free it's still worth giving it a try.
