Admittedly interpretable invitation suggests Apple may introduce new hardware at this year’s NAB show

Although Apple confirmed a while ago that trade shows weren’t its thing anymore, the company appears to be gearing up for the unveiling of some of its products at NAB 2010. It is currently unknown whether the company is planning to introduce upgraded systems, or simply wants to showcase the current lineup of products, including its new iPad. There is some indication that at least upgraded MacBook Pros are coming this week.

World of Apple is reporting that, “After a couple of years of absence from NAB Apple appears to be returning and at the same time hinting at software and hardware updates.” Indeed, the NAB 2010 invitation says, “Please join Apple for an update on their latest hardware and software products. Lunch will be provided to all those attending.” The text doesn’t confirm we should be expecting anything new, although it’s not Apple’s style to slack off. Anything worth announcing is likely brand new, when it comes to the company headquartered at One Infinite Loop, Cupertino, Calif.

According to the invite in question, Apple’s time at NAB kicks off on Wednesday, April 14th, at 11:30 a.m and ends at 12:30 p.m. (PT). The event will be hosted at the Renaissance Hotel, Las Vegas, 2nd Floor, the “Rainbow” Conference Room.

An NAB 2010 iPhone app is available for free download as well. It stands as the official iPhone/iPod touch application for the 2010 NAB Show from April 10-15 in Las Vegas, NV. Users can navigate the exhibit floor thanks to interactive maps, search the exhibitor directory, and even create their own show schedule by choosing sessions they want to attend to, or speakers that they want to hear.

There are rumors flying around that Apple is indeed planning to upgrade not only MacBook Pro systems, but also its high-end workstation, the Mac Pro. “One anonymous tipster has been spreading the seeds of a rumour around the Mac web this weekend with a screenshot […] of Microcenter’s inventory system appearing on news sites and blogs that show four new items in their system,” another report by World of Apple reveals.

Four new systems are listed alongside current offerings: Apple System Good-USA $1799.99; Mac system #1 Best-USA $2199.99; Mac system #2 Best-USA $2299.99; Mac system Better-USA $1999.99. The screenshot to the left is available for a larger view – click to enlarge.

Last, but not least, Apple is thought to be planning the release of an updated Final Cut Studio.
