Johnny Depp, who is currently shooting back-to-back "Pirates of the Caribbean" sequels, has recently worked with Tim Burton for his "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory", in which he plays Willy Wonka, the head of the very popular Wonka Chocolate empire, who announces a contest in which five gold tickets have been hidden in chocolate bars and sent throughout the country.
Victor Van Dort's voice in Burton's animated fantastic comedy "Corpse Bride", Johhny Depp, 42, has previously worked with the director for films like "Sleepy Hollow" (1999), "Ed Wood" (1994) and "Edward Scissorhands" (1990), in which he played the main parts.
According to wide spread web rumors, Depp may star in Burton's next project as well.
After playing a drunk pirate, the next step for the famous Hollywood actor might be the part of the legendary San Francisco-based burlesque artist.
"The other day I said to Tim that I would shoot anything with him. And he said: 'Well, next I'm going to do the Gypsy Rose Lee story. I said, 'Can I play Gypsy Rose?' And he said, 'Yeah.' So I said, 'I'm in!'", said Johnny Depp.
Meanwhile, "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" topped number one at the box office on its first weekend, while "Wedding Crashers" debuted at number two, and "Fantastic Four" slipped to third.
The quirky comedy took in just over $55 million.
