Johnny Depp and Vanessa Paradis made public their decision to go their separate ways yesterday, at the same time making it very clear they have no intention of going into details. That's not stopping the tabloids from speculating on what went wrong in the 14-year romance, though. Radar Online, for instance, claims to have it on very good authority that it was Depp who broke it off with the French beauty for the sole reason that he was “bored senseless.”
They had grown apart for some time and Johnny had been dying to get out of the relationship, especially since it offered no excitement for him anymore.
“Johnny didn’t want to be with Vanessa anymore. They had grown so far apart, and he wanted to be free and try new things,” says “a source close to the former couple.”
He no longer saw the use of being together since he was feeling miserable at all times, and the Hollywood star believed it was mostly Vanessa's fault.
“He was bored senseless with her, being with Vanessa was making him miserable. The spark had gone, and there was nothing left. Johnny just wants more from life and believes Vanessa deserves to be happier too,” the spy if quoted as saying.
“He’s not embroiled in some hot and heavy new romance and he has no plans to jump straight into something straight away, but he is keen to have some fun again,” the insider continues.
He wanted to end things last year but Vanessa insisted on trying to work out their difference. To Johnny, that felt like a farce, which explains the countless reports of their split over the past several months.
“Johnny was not handling keeping their split secret too well, it was difficult for him to carry on a farce, so now that it is out in the public he is feeling a lot happier about the situation,” the tipster notes.
“Johnny has wanted this relationship to end since last year. He has tried to get out of this for a long time,” the spy goes on to say.
As “bored” as he might have been with Vanessa, the woman he would always speak so highly of, Johnny is only walking away from her as a partner: he's not leaving
his children behind.
The same insider says he's determined to be a very present figure in the life of his two children with Paradis, Lily Rose and Jack, in such a way as to make the separation as easy on them as possible.
