Gone are the days when playing a superhero in films was considered below great actors. Today, even the biggest stars in Hollywood dream at night of putting on skin-tight outfights and fighting crime onscreen.

The latest rumor to come out of Hollywood is that actor Johnny Depp also has those dreams at night and is eager to get his name signed to a big Marvel project, “Doctor Strange.”

Latino Review claims they have it on good authority from someone in the casting process, that Depp has approached producers to see if he can land the role. The 50-year-old actor is a major comic book fan and, as a side note, totally looks like Dr. Strange too.

Filming this new production would fit the actor's busy schedule and it wouldn't be the first time Depp plays this type of role on screen.

His collaboration with Disney, the brand who also happens to own Marvel, was a very fruitful one, materialized in the “Pirates of the Caribbean” franchise, a major blockbuster in cinemas, with potentially endless sequels.
