Johnny Depp has proved once again that he’s part-time pirate and full-time awesome, as E! Online notes. The actor showed up in full costume at the school of a 9-year-old girl to surprise her.

As the e-zine informs, the girl, Beatrice Delap wrote to Captain Sparrow, telling him of the trouble she and other “budding pirates” had starting a mutiny against teachers.

She summoned him there to help them out and even sweetened the offer with a promise of “plenty of rum.” To her surprise, Captain Sparrow actually came.

“The movie star, in London shooting the fourth Pirates of the Caribbean flick, took time out Wednesday to surprise the kids at Meridian Primary School in Greenwich after an intrepid 9-year-old asked for his help in waging mutiny against their teachers,” E! informs.

“No one knew Depp was coming until 10 minutes before he arrived (smart, that one), but school administrators swiftly got everything in order so that Capt. Jack Sparrow himself could meet the students,” the e-zine further notes.

Because Beatrice was the one to have summoned the pirate to their school, she also got a special treat from the actor: a hug and the opportunity to pose for pictures.

Proof that Depp is even more awesome than this, he also brought Beatrice’s letter with him – and proudly showed it to her classmates to show what she’s done for them.

“During his visit, Depp asked Beatrice to come forward for a hello hug and showed her classmates the letter (illustrated with a skull and crossbones, of course) she wrote him,” E! says.

When she put so much effort into penning it, it’s no wonder Depp wanted her mates to know what she did for them, one may as well add.

“Captain Jack Sparrow, At Meridian Primary School, we are a bunch of budding young pirates and we were having a bit of trouble mutiny-ing against the teachers, and we’d love if you could come and help,” Beatrice wrote.

“As mentioned above, she signed it: “a budding pirate.” When a younger mate calls to Captain Jack Sparrow because he or she is in need of assistance, Captain Jack Sparrow arrives.

“Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides” is now shooting in 3D and will be released in theaters on May 20, 2011.
