Actor Johnny Depp had to kiss an eighty-year old woman in a scene for "Charlie and The Chocolate Factory".
Actress Liz Smith, twice Depp's age, confessed she first read the script and then she chose the part of a golden ticket winner's grandmother who is kissing Johnny's character. Smith declared the kiss was the highpoint of her career.
She told Britain's Daily Mail newspaper: "I read scripts for both grandmas. And when I saw that Georgina got to kiss Johnny I went for that one. And it was lovely."
Liz Smith, born December 11, 1921, was already a mature actress when she first appeared on screen in the early 1970s.
Since then her face has become familiar as a result of regular appearances in television series such as Emmerdale, I Didn't Know You Cared, Within These Walls, The Bill, 2point4 Children and The Royle Family.
