There is a side to Johnny Depp that fashion critics too love because, as they put it simply, the man could dress in rags and still look fabulous. Because of this and because he’s always been a trendsetter, Depp is GQ’s most stylish man.

Of the 25 gentlemen considered for the top distinction, which include the heaviest names in showbiz, like Brad Pitt, David Beckham, Robert Pattinson and Jude Law, Depp stands out a mile away. He’s never been the one to play by the rules: on the contrary, as far as image and person style is concerned, he’s always broken them so that he could afterwards set his own. To prove the point, GQ has Depp shirtless on the cover: he’s peeking through his hair and the focus falls on his jewelry and tattoos. As usual, he looks good, in a very Depp-specific kind of way. In fact, fashion comes second as regards the star’s impact, as comedian Sacha Baron Cohen also pointed out recent at People’s Choice Awards, where Depp was honored with the Actor of the Decade award.
