John Travolta and Kelly Preston Are Expecting

In the first days of January 2009, John Travolta’s 16-year-old son, Jett, collapsed in the family bathroom and went into a seizure from which he’d never recover. Jett was pronounced dead upon arrival at the hospital, in what was a terrible hit for the actor, his wife Kelly Preston and daughter Ella Bleu. Now, the family is preparing for the arrival of a new member, People magazine informs.

Usually, these things get out in the media long before official confirmation of it is made, as anyone who ever picked up a glossy magazine or read a celebrity-dedicated article must know. Kelly Preston and Travolta managing to keep a lid on the story for this long only goes to confirm that the two are, indeed, one of the most private couples in showbiz – but that’s not to say that their fans are not happy about the news, especially since they seem over the moon at the thought of becoming parents again.

“John Travolta and Kelly Preston, who have lived through the tragedy of losing a son, can now announce the best news they’ve had in years. Preston, 47, is pregnant, the family tells People. ‘It’s impossible to keep a secret... especially one as wonderful as this,’ they say in a statement. ‘We want to be the first to share this great news with everyone that we are expecting a new addition to our family. Love, John, Kelly and Ella’,” People magazine writes of the happy news.

“Travolta, 56, and Preston are also parents to Ella Bleu, 10. Their 16-year-old son Jett, died of a seizure in January 2009. The family also shared the news Tuesday on Travolta’s Web site and Preston’s site,” the publication goes on to say. No mention is made of how far along Preston is or when she is to give birth. Still, word in the blogosphere says she must be 4 months into her pregnancy, or somewhere around that, though, as of now, this is pure speculation.

John Travolta and Kelly Preston make not only one of the most private couples in Hollywood, but also one of the golden ones. The two have been married since 1991 and, as noted above, they have two children together: Jett (who passed away a little over a year ago) and Ella Bleu.
