With all the frenzy going on around the casting of the new James Bond movie, there is still one man moving against the tide: John Travolta.
Even though he reportedly was the first choice of the 007 bosses, the actor has turned down the role.
Fans begged him not to, sending him thousands of copies of "Casino Royale".
But Travolta kept his initial position, declaring:
"Bond is one of the most dynamic roles in history, one of the most extreme and career defining commitments an actor can make.
After careful consideration I feel it might not be best for me at this point."
The actor that was finally chosen was Daniel Craig, who is to be the first blond Bond.
Unluckily, Craig was already given the thumb down in a poll by Internet site IMDBcom.
With a filmography of over 47 titles, John Travolta is in a position to consider twice before accepting a role.
A part that he wanted very much and didn't get it was the lead from "The Aviator" (played by Leonardo DiCaprio), a film based upon the life of late film director Howard Hughes.
