After claiming that the metadata in the picture posted by Vice Magazine was tampered with in order to get authorities off his back, yesterday, John McAfee came forward with another statement, admitting that he was in fact in Guatemala, where the GPS coordinates placed him.

“Yesterday was chaotic due to the accidental release of my exact co-ordinates by an unseasoned technician at Vice headquarters. We made it to safety in spite of this handicap,” McAfee explained in a blog post.

He claims that he has hired an attorney from Guatemala who is “well versed in the intricate system of corruption with the Belizean government.”

McAfee reveals that he is willing to schedule an appointment with the Prime Minister of Belize in a neutral country.

“It is entirely possible that you have little or no knowledge of the level of corruption being propagated throughout every branch of your government. I will turn over to you thousands of hours of video and audio as proof, providing that we meet as gentlemen and are mutually convinced of our honesty,” he wrote to the PM.

The founder of the renowned antivirus company claims that he is also willing to answer any questions the Belizean police have over the phone. McAfee highlights the fact that if he is only wanted for questioning, a phone interview should suffice.

Once again, he insists that he has nothing to do with the death of his neighbor, Gregory Faul.

Another noteworthy thing is that all the short posts published on his blog over the past few days have been removed. McAfee explains that they were meant to throw his pursuers off track while he set up his escape from Belize.

John McAfee will hold a press conference in Guatemala City on December 6 in the presence of his attorney.
