John Mayer and Katy Perry Hold Hands at Obama Inauguration

Things are seriously heating up between John Mayer and Katy Perry. Even though both have had their fair share of failed romances, they seem to have found their perfect match in each other – so they made their first big outing as a couple at the Presidential Inauguration the other day.

The photo attached to this article confirms that the two arrived holding hands and did not even attempt to hide when they noticed cameras were snapping at them, as they used to do in the first weeks of romance.

“On Monday, Jan. 21, the couple joined hundreds of thousands of other people on the National Mall to watch President Obama be sworn in for a second term in office,” Us Weekly reports.

“Bundled up against the cold in an orange and black striped coat with a shearling collar, Perry, 28, snapped pictures of the crowd on her cellphone and happily waved a handmade miniature version of Aretha Franklin's Inauguration hat from four years ago. Mayer, 35, sat beside her in a black coat, pale-blue tie, and sunglasses,” adds the same media outlet.

Katy and John have been dating seriously since September (they dated before that as well, but they called it off in August, presumably because of their hectic schedules), with insiders saying for the same media outlet that, this time, it’s the real deal.

“They even celebrated Christmas together with Perry's parents in Santa Barbara, Calif. ‘They are seriously in love and exclusive,’ a friend told Us of the pair,” Us writes.

Before Mayer, Katy was married to bad boy British comedian Russell Brand but their marriage barely lasted a little over a year.

Mayer too has had plenty of highly mediated romances, including with Jessica Simpson, Jennifer Aniston and Taylor Swift – and many others more, which earned him a reputation of a womanizer in Hollywood.
