14 DAY TRIAL // Taylor Swift never said that “Bad Blood” is about former best friend Katy Perry, but she did offer enough hints to lead to this conclusion, including the admission that the album “1989” would include a track about a girl she was no longer friends with because she’d tried to backstab her.
Thanks to its star-studded, cameo-packed official music video, “Bad Blood” is currently one of the biggest hits in the pop charts, and Katy Perry, allegedly knowing it’s about her (down to the inclusion of a wigged Selena Gomez who plays the villain), isn’t happy about it.
She has a plan to fight back, Cosmopolitan reports.

The report claims that Katy chose not to attend the 2015 Billboard Music Awards earlier this month because on-and-off boyfriend John Mayer convinced her not to. The two are dating again, after reconnecting in January this year; however, unlike on previous occasions, they’re making efforts to keep their romance under wraps.
This will change when they release a new song together, on which they’re working on right now. It’s Katy’s response to Taylor’s “Bad Blood,” so it would basically be a diss track, using embarrassing details on Taylor provided by none other than John.
This suggests that John is still angry at Taylor for writing “Dear John” after they broke up, without even calling him beforehand to warn him it was coming out.
“Katy thinks revenge is a dish best served cold,” a spy says. “She’s even more determined to show people what she calls ‘the real Taylor’ - she’s writing some big, anthemic-type songs that’ll feature dirt on Taylor that John’s told her from when they used to date. Katy’s sure that she’ll be back on top before long, and Taylor will regret ever starting this stupid row.”
The “stupid row” was of a professional nature
In one of her older promotional interviews, Taylor spoke about “1989” and how it would include a song inspired by her worst experience with a female friend. She added that said friend was also an entertainer, and as such, they had a lot in common.
They stopped hanging out when the friend tried to hire a few dancers right from under her, just as Taylor was in the middle of an arena tour. This implied unforeseen complications for her and coming very close to having to cancel dates because the dancers had to be replaced, which meant more rehearsal time for the newcomers.
Again, Taylor never mentioned Katy’s name in connection to this. It was the Internet that decided that the song was “Bad Blood” and that the enemy was Katy, mostly because several of Taylor’s dancers left her troupe in 2013 to go to work for Katy.
This happened when Taylor was on tour, just as Katy was preparing to launch her own, so the conclusion was that Katy deliberately pursued them and lured them over to hurt her former friend.
