The Secretary of State had a friendly hip-hop chat with the singer

Secretary of State John Kerry and Snoop Dogg share a hip-hop chat and a fist bump. This is a sentence I never thought I'd have to write in my life. But, somehow, the famous rapper and the politician seemed to be sharing a moment together when they met at the White House for a tribute to jazz legend Herbie Hancock.

The audio on the video filmed using a mobile phone is pretty bad, but you can hear Snoop probably explaining his presence there by saying that “[Hancock] invented hip-hop, that's why it only makes sense.” Kerry and Snoop share a laugh and then the Secretary of State proceeds to fist-pound the rapper.

“You gave me a good pound,” exclaims Kerry, drawing laughter from other people and apparently making Snoop Dogg's day, who proceeds to mimic some boxing moves. You probably weren't aware that John Kerry had the moves, but he's definitely a street player and in Snoop's good graces, who tweeted, “@SnoopDogg Boss life. me n john kerry at d white house !!! #reincarnated #khc instagram.com/p/iZstshv9Ha/.”

It remains unclear whether Snoop Dogg will now pursue a career in politics or John Kerry a career in hip-hop music. But it's good to have options.
