Reports say that alleged mob boss John “Junior” Gotti has been stabbed in Long Island on Sunday.

Police have confirmed that the son of late “Dapper Don” John Gotti was stabbed in the parking lot of a CVS center during the night.

He has been assaulted in Syosset and his case is currently being investigated by the Nassau County District Attorney's office, ABC News reports.

49-year-old Gotti is not cooperating with the police and has offered no leads on his assailant.

“We are aware of the incident and it is under review. Beyond that I have no further comment,” Rick Whelan, chief of the DA’s Organized Crime and Rackets Bureau, says in a statement.

Gotti was able to drive himself to Syosset Hospital and the police were called at 9:45 p.m. His lawyer, Charles Carnesi, informs that he is stable and recovering at home.

“He didn’t say anything to us so there was really no lead to track down at that point,” a police source informs, as relayed by the NY Post.

He told officials that he was trying to stop an argument between two people that he had never met before.

“It’s hard to believe he would break up a fight between two strangers,” a law enforcement source tells NY Daily News.

Gotti claimed to have quit organized crime in 1999. He was sent to jail for bribery, extortion, gambling and fraud and he was out by 2005. He denies being guilty of murder or violent crimes.

“You have to believe that my father loved me. Do you think he would put his son in a position that he’d have to go out and kill people? He put me in a position of monetary things … of politicking … of dealing with lawyers,” he said in 2010.
