The former boy bander squashes reunion rumors, pokes fun at the Backstreet Boys

They were one of the quintessential boy bands of the ‘90s and early ‘00s, but it looks like 'N Sync won't be coming back together any time soon. While a little part of you might have just died after reading that sentence, you should know that it’s member Joey Fatone you have to blame for that.

In a recent interview with the Huffington Post, Fatone slammed the rumor that the band was getting back together. It seems that these days, many ‘90s icons are making a comeback, but Fatone is “100% sure” that he's not going to be part of the reunion if that should ever take place.

“It was fun, it was interesting, but I don't know if it's ever going to happen again,” Fatone said.

The speculation of a possible reunion began with the brief performance 'N Sync made at the 2013 MTV Video music Awards in Brooklyn last August.

At the time, the boys came together on stage to honor one of their members, Justin Timberlake, who we all know went on to become one of the biggest names in the musical industry, but now Fatone isn't sure that he's still got what it takes to make this a full-time thing.

Older and packing on a few more pounds than back in the ‘90s, Fatone told his interviewer that he was skeptical about the reunion at this point, “At this moment in time is anything gonna happen? Absolutely, 100 percent no...at this moment.”

But he didn't slap down the door on the reunion thing permanently and left some little room for speculation. “I don't know whether or not something will ever happen again, but again you always say never say never because that happened. That was never gonna happen and all of a sudden it did happen,” he said referring to last year's reunion.

When it was pointed out to him that another ‘90s boy band, the Backstreet Boys, were coming back together, Fatone dismissed the comparison by saying “I feel like they just need the money” but then quickly added “No offense guys!” in an attempt to patch things up.

So far, Fatone has managed to cross both fans of his band and also fans of the Backstreet Boys, all in one interview.
