14 DAY TRIAL // After an extended engagement and 2 babies, Jessica Simpson tied the knot with Eric Johnson on July 4, with the wedding celebrations extending throughout the weekend. Among family members and friends, also present at the festivities was a certain young man whom Jessica’s secretly gay dad has been having a relationship with for some time.
In 2012, Joe and Tina Simpson, Jessica and Ashlee’s parents, announced that they would be getting a divorce after 34 years of marriage. The news was a genuine bombshell, especially since it hadn’t been preceded by the usual rumors that transpire in the tabloids.
However, after the announcement, Joe unveiled a complete makeover, both in his fashion choices and his looks. He also started hanging out with much younger, model-type men, which soon made way for the rumor that he was actually gay.
He had been a closeted gay for years and had come out to his family just recently. Heartbroken, Tina filed for divorce and refused to speak with Joe afterwards, because this was also when she finally realized that he had been having clandestine affairs for years.
By the time their daughter Jessica tied the knot, she was yet to forgive him. Seeing how Joe brought his lover to the wedding, chances are she will never do so now.
“Joe walked around wearing his swim shorts with sneakers and was accompanied by a much younger mystery man. The pair kept a safe distance away from each other the whole time but were seen chatting at one point while Joe laid out and worked on his tan,” Fame / Flynet says.
InTouch Weekly says what this first media outlet wouldn’t: the “mystery” man is actually Joe’s rumored boyfriend and model client. These days, Joe is managing several such models, and his boyfriend is one of them.
The e-zine even identifies him as Jonathan Keith, aka the handsome young fellow in the photo above. Apparently, it was Jessica’s decision to have her dad bring whomever he wanted as his date to the ceremony, because she has already accepted the fact that he is gay and has moved on from her mom.
On this special and very happy day in her life, she wanted everyone else to be just as happy, and she thought this was the best way to make it happen.
Tina didn’t agree. “Jess’ mom was hurt,” an insider tells InTouch of Tina’s reaction when she saw Joe with Jonathan at the wedding.
