Joe Jackson, the father of late singer Michael Jackson, has been hospitalized in Las Vegas after suffering a stroke, whose severity has yet to be determined.

TMZ, for one, only notes that Jackson suffered a stroke and that he’s expected to bounce back in top shape once he’s out of the hospital, but other reports paint the situation in a less positive light.

Fox News, for instance, claims to have it from a family source that Jackson is in “serious” condition, with all the members of the family worried sick about his health.

“He's in ‘serious’ condition. Joe has been struggling with his health a lot over the past three or four months,” the spy is quoted as saying.

“The good thing is that he was taken immediately to the hospital as he was with a couple of people at the time,” the same insider further dishes.

CNN says the stroke was “mild,” the kind he already had two in the past few years. The same media outlet says the 83-year-old Jackson is “in good spirits” and will most likely be discharged from the hospital today.

Ever since Michael’s sudden death, Joe has been constantly in the headlines, most of the time for issues that only sparked controversy and outrage among the fans, such as giving interviews on the beatings he’d give the singer as a child, which he says were “good” for him.

At the same time, Joe has been trying to get Katherine, Michael’s mother, to hand him a piece of the fortune Michael left her by will. He failed.

Despite his age, Joe Jackson continues to have a lucrative career as a manager in Las Vegas, which he now counts as his primary residence.
