The creator of 'Girls Gone Wild' sentenced to prison and on the brink of a nervous breakdown

When this was funny, Joe was still a free man...

A while ago, I was telling you that Joe Francis, the young millionaire who founded the Mantra Inc. studio and the universally known 'Girls Gone Wild' series was in serious s**t. Well, you can take that, add more troubles and more s**t and you kinda get a vague idea of the problems this 'son of Hollywood' is facing right now.

Francis has experienced on his own what 'fall from grace' actually means: after hanging out with the hottest celebrity/socialites out there, like Paris Hilton and Lindsay Lohan, enjoying the good life and basically doing whatever he pleased, he is now reduced to the state of inmate. The bigger problem is, though, that he will continue to be one for the next three weeks (and probably even more) while fighting back a nervous breakdown. OK, that last part is probably just a scheme plotted by his attorney and meant to melt the heart of stone of the judge.

Joe was arrested on April 13 on several counts, among which there was also the one for contempt of court. Apparently, he did something that he shouldn't have (tried to settle a case with seven women who accused him of taking advantage of them just to avoid jail time and the judge quickly caught on and ordered an arrest warrant on his name) and then tried to flee the country. Well, he didn't quite say so: but he was apprehended at the airport, days after he had vouched to turn himself in so it does look as if he was trying to make his escape.

Until the judge ruled in the case, he was held in police custody and, by the reports his lawyer constantly makes public, the man is living in hell. Apparently, not only is Francis the victim of constant 'full-blown anxiety attacks' but he is also 'breaking down' under the threats and taunts of a cop killer (his cell mate), who constantly shouts things like 'Girls Gone Wild! Joe Francis! Whoo!'. He should totally sue his ass for being in such a monstrous way insulted and harassed!

Today, the judge sentenced Francis to 35 days in jail and a fine of $5,010 for contempt of court but, since he already served twelve, that leaves only 23 days with his wacko cell mate. But the movie maker is not yet out of the woods because the state officials are planning to file charges against him for bringing cash and prescription drugs into the prison. Apparently, they will seize him the moment the last minute of his federal sentence is over.
