One of the most controversial and, some say, universally hated, glamour models in the UK, Jodie Marsh, has just hung up her stilettos and mini skirts, and replaced them with weights to build muscle mass. In a new interview with New! magazine, the 30-year-old model says she’s set to make herself tougher and bigger than ever before – and the accompanying photo spread clearly indicates she’s on the path there.

Since she started working out seriously, Jodie has already dropped three dress sizes, while also admittedly learning to see her body like never before. She has definition on her abdomen and her arms seem stronger than ever, but she’s not yet ready to stop, as she tells the magazine she’s looking to shed another half a stone and get even bigger muscles. Nevertheless, she’s extremely proud to show off the results so far – in a brown swimsuit that makes almost all of her 100 tattoos stand out, together with the newly-defined muscles.

“Within two weeks, I had definition in my stomach. As I saw my body changing, I really liked my muscles and as Tim [her personal trainer] is a body builder it just went from there.” Marsh says for the magazine. As per her own words, her daily routine implies a three-mile hike with her dog, to which she adds plenty of dancing in nightclubs almost on a daily basis. Of course, she also trains at the gym with Tim – who has taught her to use a Swiss ball and do free weights for an hour to get the kind of definition she wants.

Clearly happy with the results so far, the former glamour model would not say no to doing the professional body-builder circuit either, should the opportunity ever arise. “I’ve still got loads to go. I might do a bodybuilder competition in August.” Jodie adds. However, until now, nothing official in this sense has yet been made public, which could mean she still might change her mind about the whole body building business, and return to modeling, several UK media outlets are saying.

Just recently, Marsh (together with Jordan and the late Jade Goody) was severely attacked by Jane Moir of the Daily Mail for everything that she represents, meaning the “idol” of a corrupted celebrity culture that has forgotten that stars must also know to do something in order to be elevated on a pedestal. “Then there is Jodie Marsh. A girl who has been on more laps than a curry house napkin. Marsh is the least successful of the three, but she still has a book in the current bestseller list and is famous because... well, you tell me. […] Their supporters insist that we must worship them because they come from humble origins. Yet in their mutual short journey from sink estate to the warm bath of public adulation, truly what is there to respect? Not much, I fear.” Moir was saying a couple of days ago.
